We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Job Coach to support individuals with physical and or mental disabilities in achieving their professional goals through personalized guidance and workforce development. The ideal candidate will have a background in workforce development and experience working with diverse populations, including those with developmental disabilities and autism, or a willingness to learn. As a Job Coach, you will provide guidance, resources, and support to help clients navigate their career paths and enhance their employability. An employee can work at Easterseals Alaska as a DSP, Personal Care Assistant (PCA), or Job Coach simultaneously.
Duties
Assist client with supported employment and career goals as defined in the client's Plan of Care.
Teach required employment-related skills by coaching the client while on the job, with the goal of working toward maximizing client independence.
Provide client care that ensures client safety in their work environment.
Communicate effectively with the client, employment supervisors and co-workers, and the Easterseals Alaska supervisor.
Document and track the services provided and make necessary reports as requested by the supervisor of the program.
Maintain accurate records of client progress and outcomes in accordance with organizational policies.
Supported Employment is a service to assist clients looking for work or to maintain employment. It may entail assisting hand-over-hand to learn new skills or verbal prompts and coaching to assist the client in learning necessary skills to achieve success in job placement.
Qualifications
18 years of age or older
High school diploma
Be free of communicable diseases and other conditions that would pose a substantial safety or health risk to clients.
Meet the Supported Employment Provider requirements as provided by the Department of Senior Services and/or the Department of Health & Social Services.
Must not have any convictions of abuse, neglect, or any other crime that would pose a threat or health risk to clients or their families.
Proof of Insurance Coverage.
Communicate effectively in English, including reading written instructions and entering data in the client's file.
Ability to implement employment services outlined in the support plan.
Pass a training course as specified by the State of Alaska within six months of hire date.
