Respite Provider

Essential Functions and Scope of Responsibilities:

The Respite provider has the primary responsibility to offer temporary relief to the primary caregiver of an Easterseals Alaska individual client. This service may be performed out in the community or in the client's home.

Job Duties:

• As defined by the client and/or their family, provide Respite services as agreed upon during the initial interview;
• Provide Respite care that will allow the client to be safe in their environment;
• Provide care that allows the client respect and dignity in all situations;
• Posses the ability to perform all tasks and activities as needed by this service;
• Document the services provided and make necessary reports as requested by the supervisor of the program.
• Daily Respite is also available on an individual basis, as per the plan of care

Note: No medical procedures are authorized to be performed by a Respite provider. This includes, but is not limited to, medication dispensing, bowel or bladder programs, and tube feedings.
