Welcome to the Easterseals Alaska Direct Support Professional (DSP) Training Portal. We are proud to offer a comprehensive, competency-based training program designed to ensure the highest standards of care and professionalism among all staff members who provide direct support to our clients. This program is mandatory for all direct support staff, as well as administrators who provide direct support services, and it serves as the foundation for quality, compassionate, and effective assistance across all areas of client care.
Our DSP training focuses on the core competencies and essential skills required for exceptional job performance. These competencies are designed to strengthen the knowledge, confidence, and abilities of each participant, ensuring that every individual we serve receives consistent, person-centered support. The program includes both training modules and competency assessments to help participants demonstrate their understanding and ability to apply what they’ve learned in real-world situations.
In addition to being a requirement for staff, this training is also available to anyone interested in professional growth or expanding their skills in the field of direct support. Whether you are new to this line of work or seeking to enhance your existing skills, our training program offers valuable knowledge and practical tools, all at no cost to participants.
New Employees: All training modules listed are required and must be completed in full.
Existing Employees: Only complete the specific training you have been notified to take. If you are unsure which courses are required, please contact the main office at (907) 277-7325 for assistance. Note: You will only be compensated for training that is currently due for renewal or has been assigned by your supervisor.
