My name is Carol Griffin. I’m the Director of DVR, PCA, & VA Services for Easterseals Alaska. My responsibilities include oversight of operations and support to the PCA, Private Pay, and VA programs through policy, enrollment, regulations, and all day-to-day activities. Other duties involve overseeing staff and providing guidance and training on their duties and responsibilities. The most important aspect of my position is ensuring that quality services are provided to all our clients on a day-to-day basis. I strive to achieve excellence in care in all situations.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Wayland Baptist University in Anchorage, Alaska, and I am deeply dedicated and passionate about helping people. My journey in caregiving began at age 11, when I supported elderly neighbors by running errands and helping with household tasks. Over the years, I have worked in a variety of settings and with multiple populations. I held a Certified Nurse’s Aide license for 22 years, served as a Therapeutic Foster Parent, supported adults experiencing mental health challenges, and owned and operated an Assisted Living Home for seniors.
The helping profession has always been incredibly rewarding for me, and I truly LOVE the work I do. I was taught to treat others the way that I would like to be treated. Working here at Easterseals allows me to continue to fulfill my passion by helping and caring for others.
I have lived in Alaska for 25 years. I’m originally from Arkansas. I’m happily married with two wonderful daughters, and I'm a VERY proud GIGI to an AMAZING grandson and granddaughter! I enjoy spending time with family and friends by hosting cookouts. I also enjoy decorating and shopping. :)
